Dick Ford is
an artist who has been productive in a plurality of fields. He
lives in Mississippi, in a region occupied by his ancestors for a
duality of centuries and prefers to write, when pressed for a press
kit, in the voice of the third person.
Buckminster Fuller - Inventor - (speaking on Ford's Hexacube sculpture in 1983) - "It is very beautiful." Leni Riefenstahl - Filmmaker - (speaking on Ford's computer animation effects in Munich in 1992 when I worked for STEINER FILM) - "You are making a new reality." Vernon Merrifield - Art Professor, University of Southern Mississippi - (speaking on Ford's portraits) - "The eyes have it! Don't stop doing those faces; they have charm." Patt Odom - Art Professor, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College - "From childhood; I have watched Dick Ford develop into one of the most accomplished artists of Mississippi. His talent is wide-reaching in content and technique, in both fine art and graphic design. His success in film and commercial work has taken him far beyond the state of Mississippi. He has done work for many major companies around the globe. His portrait work is uncanny as to its likeness and super-realism. His vast amount of work spans the spectrum from realism to surrealism to abstraction. His knowledge of THE ARTS and his work ethic are remarkable. Dick is one of the most diverse artisans that I know and (by the way, did I mention?) I am proud to call him cousin!" JJ Gemillion Foley - Artist - Dick Ford combines energy and sensitivity to achieve a very approachable and beautiful result. His faces, figures, and film projects make you want to linger and I always look forward to more work. And what's more, he is just a very cool guy. © 2000-2011 Dick Ford |
