WORKSHOP STUDENT ANIMATIONS

Miyazaki's
Ponyo running on water.
Howl's Moving Castle, another
Miyazaki animated feature, will play at
Crossroads.

Sam Lovelace's chibi girl jumping. Sam (Samantha) will be teaching a
chibi drawing class before the animation class.
If anyone would like to colorize or play with these animations in Adobe
Photoshop or the freeware GIMP,
(both these programs can generate animated gif files which can be
viewed in a web browser or you could open the individual frames in a
video editing program)
download these zipped Photoshop PSD files:
Running Ponyo.psd
Jumping Chibi Girl.psd
If you would like to print the drawings on paper to add color with
markers or other art supplies (after you add your colors, you will need
to scan or photograph the drawings to animate them in your computer),
print these 'coloring book' PDF files:
Running Ponyo.pdf
Jumping Chibi Girl.pdf
Send me your animated .gif files and I will post them here.

The following
images are part of the animation workshop for the 2010 Crossroads
Film Festival in Jackson, MS April 17 at Malco Theater in
Madison. The
drawings are based on the motion photography of Eadweard
Muybridge. Students
can
color the images on paper or in a computer program such as GIMP
which can output the images
as animated GIFs. Download files to colorize and make your own animated
GIF images with Gimp or Photoshop: GALLOPING
